Top 10 Holiday Park – Hot Water beach Review

This chain of camping park was Kiwi Experience’s choice of accommodation at Hot Water Beach. With a cabin block made especially for the Kiwi Experience backpackers this was such a great place to stay. Each cabin had two rooms, which each room having 3 normal bunks and one with a double and single above – which I thought was a nice idea, or maybe that was just because I was one of those couples sharing the double bed. There was a few kitchen facilities, toilets and showers to be shared between the two rooms. Fully decked outside with benches it felt like a proper ‘holiday’ accommodation. The park also had other cabins both family sized and doubles as well as camping spots.

The staff were super friendly to us, explaining everything from where things were to being allowed alcohol on site – unlike most places we would visit. In the evening they ran a fish and chip hut which served yummy meals at a very good price – $9.

The park was clean, tidy and felt relatively new. It had a typical kids play park and a bounce pillow – which we tested out – it was exactly what I would expect from a holiday park. The communal area was made up of benches and sofas around a fire. The kitchen then backed on to that, along with a tv room. They didn’t use key cards for the rooms just a number on a key pad for each door – this was a lot less hassle and we didn’t have to do anything upon checking out.

Overall I was very impressed with the accommodation here. It was beautifully new and so nicely laid out. It very much reminded me of a stay in cabins at Boyne Mountains in the USA or the Forest Of Dean in the UK. The staff were friendly, the fish and chips van yummy and it was only a short walk to the amazing Hot Water Beach.
