Food In South East Asia In Photos

Before I arrived in Asia I was excited to try street food and traditional dishes but I was also scared I wouldn’t like anything because it would be too spicy or upset my stomach. Sure enough I had a few meals that were way tooo spicy and the odd thing upset my stomach but on the whole my food experience across Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam was exciting and delicious. Each night we would try to eat somewhere new and try a new dish, although occasionally when we found something amazing we would go back a second time. It was very rare for us to eat any kid of western food and if I did, it was normally because I fancied salad. We ate at all kinds of places for all kinds of prices. This was one of the best meals, receiving my fried rice in a pineapple!

Some of the food looked very similar yet you were sure you had never ordered it before.

Asking for tips from locals of where to eat, always turned out well.

Meals that came in a bowl of watery sauce were never my favourite.

The one time I did order a salad

You get used to ordering rice with every meal, other wise you would just receive the meat.

This might have come with chips but we loved bbqing our own skewers.

Sweet and sour was definitely my favourite!

It was hard to judge the portion size and sometimes I got it wrong!

Any curry with coconut milk was a hit for me too.
